You're in good company
Starting a business is total chaos. The good kind (mostly). You’re overflowing with ideas, constantly learning, occasionally crying, and running on caffeine and sheer stubbornness. Back in 2021, in Edinburgh, I started Revivre from scratch — no team, no launch plan, just me, a laptop, and an ever-growing list of things I Googled at midnight while my kid slept (or didn’t). And weirdly, I’ve loved it. Even the chaos. Especially the chaos.
Scotland has surprised me in all the best ways. Sure, it rains sideways and you’ll need three layers in July, but it’s also packed with wildly creative people doing incredible things — especially women. And then there’s the landscape — the salt air, the seagrass, the untouched raw beauty that inspired the colours of The Oceanique Collection. It’s wild, breath-taking, and endlessly grounding.
There’s something different about building a business up here. It’s about community, connection, and a bit of grit. I’ve met so many brilliant women juggling babies, businesses, day jobs — and somehow still showing up with advice, support, or just a coffee and a laugh.
Scotland has been the most incredible launchpad for Revivre. There’s a real sense of togetherness here — a willingness to do things a bit differently, to back each other without hesitation. Whether it’s a kind word, a quiet cheer, or showing up at 4am in East Lothian for a chilly yet dreamy photo shoot, the support runs deep. It’s generous, unpretentious, and wildly encouraging.
I thought networking would be all business cards and awkward small talk. But it’s turned out to be one of the best parts. When you stop “networking” and just start chatting, you find people who get it. The ones who’ve been there. The ones figuring it out alongside you. The ones who send a message just to say, “You’ve got this.” That’s what really matters. It’s the people.
And if you’re doing it in Scotland — or anywhere, really — drop me a line. I’m all for the collective movement.
Love, Sara x
